I doubt very much they will enjoy looking at them, and I rather suspect they will not enjoy the reputation that will attach itself to Genesis Housing Association, but then it is them and only them that can do anything about that. It really is the old story of not wishing to be cast in a bad light, they will have to brighten up!
Just for starters,
'Lucam Lodge'.
'Lucam Lodge'.
Now we all know where we are at, and
Genesis Housing Association
have a focus point(?)

Looks good, doesn't it? Nice looking building, not too large, not at all compact, clean lines with a pleasant 'oast house' feel, close to open countryside but conveniently situated in a reasonably quiet old town in Essex.
The ideal place for us olduns to retire to, out of the way of the youngsters, and not too far away that we cannot be visited occasionally by our offspring when they are up to it....(?)
Anyway, Ol'pete is rambling on, so back to the real pain in our lives, (Nearly said something rude then!)
Genesis have 'been in control' since April, taking over from Springboard, promising us all just how much better everything is going to be, how we had seen the last of all the problems and we would find ourselves in heaven!
I hate to say this, but it really never happened! Neither they nor us appear to have moved forward, and, to be totally honest, general consensus here is that we have made a giant step back, backwards by as much as four or five years! We did see it coming. All the signs were there, as in dismissing a number of staff members known to be caring and efficient, allowing others nobody here ever felt to be trustworthy to remain in position until the final day, a big mistake as it now appears that plans and works records have disappeared, and now no one has any clue as to where we were at or where we we hoping to go.
A classic example of this is that while the lifts were being upgraded by Pickerings a fault, not covered in the works specification, was found by that company's engineers who requested a works order so that they could facilitate the repair while they were on site and working on that lift.
That works order was, it is understood, refused on the grounds of Lucam Lodge being due for full lift replacement!
Please be advised.......
We do now have two lovely lifts that seldom get used because my nieghbours have no confidence in using them!

That should save us a few bob in the next few years! Except, that is, for one little problem
The lovely people that so competently administer our lives here sent in another contractor to repair the fault, thus negating the warranty provided by the original company.Hem....yes.......well......
Letters, e-mails and phone calls elicited not one reply, so, in exasperation, one of my nieghbours filed an official complaint in view of Genesis' failure to comply with their own terms of service.
This has all been pretty much of a 'recap' so far, however we did receive an acknowledgement letter from a senior manager apologizing and upholding the complaint, commenting that it is possible the staff member(s) responsible possibly require further training.
Bearing in mind that this was now a few weeks ago, and to date we have not had any further contact, (we have not been holding our breath,) if we now have to wait for our administrators to be trained in (A) Common courtesy and (B) How to write along with all the other communication skills so obviously absent, we, the elderly at Lucam Lodge, along with all those other prisoners, sorry, customers, of Genesis Housing Association, are in for a truly sad bleak future!
Now I will be back, there is more, much more to come, so I ask again, Genesis Housing Association, are you listening yet? Or is it just 'Can't read or Won't Read!
Back soon, you all take good care of each other now.
